This issue of eDIT Filmmaker’s Magazine covers a wide range from animated movies to latest developments in cinematography, 3D and the future of audiovisual. On first sight this may seem like a rather great variety, but a closer look reveals, that all contributions do have one major aspect in common: It’s all about storytelling.

By example of Lebanon cinematographer Giora Bejach demonstrates, how technical solutions can actually enhance storytelling. Oscar ®-winner Vilmos Zsigmond reflects on how new technology supports new ideas and the tasks cinematographers need to face in the process. Post Production Supervisor Paul Cichocki outlines the specific workflow at Pixar: from story development to the screening copy. While Prof. Gundolf S. Freyermuth dares a look into the future: How 3D will influence the further development of audiovisual production and storytelling in moving images. Ludger Pfanz on the other hand describes storytelling challenges emerging from 3D.
So in a nutshell, all contributions of this issue do actually revolve around the paramount theme of the Filmmaker’s Festival: „Storytelling in the digital Age“.
