Filmmaking is the most important aspect at eDit The Filmmaker’s Festival. We especially focus on the innovation, trends and possibilities of digital production. The boundaries between camerawork and postproduction dissolve. The traditional workflow between filming and editing changes and editing is no longer only at the end of the production pipeline. No matter which area: camera, editing or animation: they are all being revolutionized through new digital possibilities. Our festival is dedicated to these advancements and alterations. We also offer information on this subject in our online magazine.
Our first edition of this year focuses on editing. We introduce four editors who deal with these advancements. Sound editor Erik Aadahl expresses the importance of sound design for storytelling, Anders Refn illustrates his work principles, Stephen E.Rivkin describes his experiences while editing on Avatar and Tom Rolf enlightens us on how work as an editor has been altered and modified during the last 30 years. Along with Kirsten Kieninger who follows the changes and rules of editing – from Intolerance to Inception – in film history.
We hope you enjoy the videos and articles.
